José Adilson De CASTRO
He has a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (1993),
a Master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Fluminense Federal University (1996)
and Ph. D in Engineering with a focus on process simulation at Tohoku University, Japan.
Member of the Editorial Board of the Collection of Books Metallurgy and Materials (2006-
2014) and as refferee of top journals in the metallurgy field. He is full professor of the Fluminense Federal University. He has experience in the area of Materials Engineering and Metallurgy, with emphasis on Steel, working mainly on the
following topics: Process simulation, Blast Furnace, Sintering, Environment. He acts in the
development and application of softwares focused on the analysis of steelmaking processes,
environmental impacts and alternative sources of energy. Young scientist from the State of Rio
de Janeiro (2008) and Scientist from the State of Rio de Janeiro (2014). He has more than 150 papers published in ironmaking journals and 250 coference papers on the field. He has supervisioned 22 Ph.D. theses and 45 Master dissertation. Nowadays occuping the head of the graduate program on Metallurgical Engineering and the key laboratory of multiphase system at the Federal Fluminense University.
